Wedding DJ Hire

Wedding DJ Hire

This happy event requires a section of its own. A wedding is always an honour to be asked as a DJ as it holds such high importance to the clients. Things need to go smoothly and professionally as possible with that extra little pressure that is often present on the day. Unfortunately, I feel some undervalue the importance of a competent and professional DJ Hire for their Wedding Disco. Nothing pleases me more than to hear ‘we didn’t want the music to stop’ or ‘you knew exactly what to do, we didn’t have to worry about anything’.

When booked for a Wedding I go the extra mile. I often visit the venue in advance, and speak to the staff. I make sure I know how everything will be laid out on the day and if they will be moved around. Timing is often of vital importance, sometimes I am required to be in an area occupied for the Wedding breakfast so I maybe I need to pre-load into a staging area. Or I can set up in a certain time window before the wedding.

Wedding venues often require proof in insurance and that all equipment is PAT tested. I am able to offer this in advance.

Of course I like to meet the couple personally beforehand if possible. At the very least hold a conversation to understand their desires for the music to be played. Often there is a playlist which I am happy to satisfy, though often it is more important to know when to select tracks from the playlist. I like to know who will be attending, maybe there will be a bunch of Uni friends who want to reminisce their indie phase, or family from abroad who would love to hear that special song dedicated to them. Will children be in attendance? They are often the first to hit the floor! I have often spoken to the Best Man as well, just in case there are any nice surprises he needs me to help out with.

I have often been hired to be in attendance during the time of the Wedding Breakfast, maybe to supply background music or a chill out room before the evening guests arrive. Another useful and often forgotten about tool are wireless mics for the speeches, making sure all can hear and chortle at the Best man’s jokes.

Most DJ's charge a premium to perform at Weddings. I do not. My hourly rate of £100 still applies to a Wedding as it does a Birthday. Of course, some weddings demand additional on-site and preparation time. However, that will all be discussed beforehand to suit your budget. But know this, there is no 'wedding tax' here!
